August 2012

Let's see what the end of the summer brought our way:

Logan Canyon Camping Trip July 24th Weekend
The girls and I decided we wanted to go camping and Max and Hillary were both game! We loaded up and found a great spot up Right Hand Fork to set up. We roasted hot dogs and made s'mores and after the girls went to bed, the grown-ups stayed up chatting. It was a lot of fun!

Evelyn and Sophia play so well together. This was a play that they made up and performed for me

We went with Jill and Saige to the stake swim party at the Aquatic Center - August 30, 2011

We hang out with Jill and Saige a lot. I taught Saige at Little Wonders and Jill and I became friends because we have so much in common, and our daughters love each other. Well, she finally talked me into setting up an online profile on ldslinkup.com. GAG. I have been hesitant because, frankly, there are weirdos roaming around out there and after being single for one year I was just opening myself up to the idea of dating again and didn't want to date any psychopathic criminals masquerading as Mr. Nice Guy. But for some reason or another I found myself plopped on her couch one night with the girls watching My Little Pony on the floor as we tried to make myself sound remotely interesting for the leagues of available men on the hunt (not that I enjoyed the thought of being hunted). I did think that, if anything, I would have some funny stories to tell my brothers at Sunday family dinners. And I did end up getting proposed to right off the bat by someone in Peru who claimed I was his long lost eternal companion...and a fresh out of the big house guy asked me down to his house for the weekend (which I declined) but then after about a week this nice looking guy from California showed up on my page....
Aaron Jackson. From Phelan, CA. Nursing student. Widower.
We exchanged information and started texting and talking. Turns out we have a lot in common. Who knows..

Back-to-school Dinner - August 19, 2012
We are getting ready to go back-to-school! We had the fam over to a special dinner.

July 2012 Happy 4th Birthday Beeb

Happy Birthday to my spunky four-year-old!!
Sophia turned four on my 31st birthday. We celebrated with a
Giraffe Party!
Sophia picked out all of the decorations for a giraffe party because giraffes are her favorite animal, and we had my family over for the party.

 Grandma Kari Max and Emily
 A "Sophie-Sandwich"!!
All tired out after a busy birthday.

Fourth of July & Bear Lake
To start off our exciting month of July, we celebrated our Nation's Birthday with fireworks at Romney Stadium and a day trip to Bear Lake.

My friend Jill and her daughter came with us to the fireworks and we had a great time lighting sparklers and watching the spectacular show in the sky.

Since the holiday fell on a Wednesday, and we only had one day off work, we made a day trip to the Lake and had a great time! Emily and I brought food and the kids played on the beach and waded in the water while Max and Russ napped under the umbrella.

Relay for Life & LAGOON!
Jill recruited me for the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life and it was a great experience. Relay was at Elk Ridge Park and for 24-hours we walked and did fundraisers for cancer research. Since my grandma died of cancer and Patty Jones is currently battling cancer I walked for them and lit luminaries in their honor.

After being up for 24 hours - we went to Lagoon! It was Adam's company Lagoon Day and he got tickets for the girls and I and Max. It just so happened that Russell had his company Lagoon Day on the same Saturday!! We had a blast! Evelyn and Adam were roller coaster buddies and since she is barely tall enough to be admitted to all of the rides Adam took her on the Wild Mouse (her favorite) three times, and the white roller coaster once. We all took turns watching the kids on the kiddie rides and going on the adult rides. I haven't been to Lagoon for nine years and it is every bit as fun as I remember (maybe more).

Oops! Guess it was a good thing that it was a warm day boys :)
This is my favorite picture of the day because the girls just love Elliot
These two loved the car ride
